The ROCKWOOL Foundation Berlin Institute for the Economy and the Future of Work (RFBerlin), a new and dynamic applied economics research institute, seeks a talented and driven Communications Manager to join our team. We are dedicated to promoting evidence-based policy-making and increasing the visibility of cutting-edge research in labour and applied economics on issues such as unemployment, inequality, technology, health, gender economics, and migration. This is an exciting opportunity to engage with policymakers and world-class researchers to help promote research findings to a wider audience.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with renowned researchers to distill complex research findings into engaging and accessible content for a policy audience.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with media outlets to raise awareness for our research and its policy implications.
- Expand the Institute’s online presence by managing website content and social media outlets (e.g., Twitter), ensuring effective research communication to a wide audience.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or higher; interest in, and understanding of, economic-related topics, and strong writing skills are highly valued. Relevant experience in communication acquired through a degree in journalism or communication, relevant internships or work experience is desired.
- Ability to simplify economic research for a policy audience.
- Interest in social policy, evidence-based policy-making, and economics.
- Proficiency in English is required. Proficiency in German is advantageous.
- Experience using digital communication tools and platforms like Hootsuite, Mailchimp, and Photoshop to enhance our online presence.
Remuneration
We are offering a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Both full-time and part-time contracts may be offered at any level of seniority. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and all applicants will receive full consideration. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in an interview. The starting date of the position will be arranged with the candidate.
Location
While we prefer the position to be based in our new offices in the centre of Berlin (Gendarmenmarkt), we are open to considering remote working arrangements for exceptional candidates.
