Julia Schmieder

Research Associate

Julia Schmieder is a research consultant at the ROCKWOOL Foundation Berlin Institute for the Economy and the Future of Work (RFBerlin). Previously, she was a postdoctoral researcher at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin) and the Berlin School of Economics after receiving her PhD in Economics from the Free University of Berlin. During her doctoral studies, Julia worked at the University of Mannheim, the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration, and DIW Berlin.

Her research interests lie in applied microeconomics and labor economics, with a focus on issues related to gender, the family, migration, and long-term care.
