The RFBerlin Applied Economics Seminar series brings leading researchers to Berlin to share their latest work and engage with our community. We are pleased to welcome Matthias Doepke for this session, where he will share his work.
Matthias Doepke is Professor of Economics and Nicholas Kaldor Chair in Economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is also an RFBerlin research fellow the Gerald F. and Marjorie G. Fitzgerald Professor of Economic History at Northwestern University. His research explores how decisions within families shape macroeconomic outcomes, and how economic conditions in turn influence family choices. His work spans family economics, macroeconomics, economic growth and development, economic history, political economy, and demographic economics. He has published in leading journals including the American Economic Review, Econometrica, the Journal of Political Economy, the Quarterly Journal of Economics, and the Review of Economic Studies. He is also the co-author, with Fabrizio Zilibotti, of Love, Money, and Parenting: How Economics Explains the Way We Raise Our Kids.
