Raffaele Saggio is an Associate Professor at the Vancouver School of Economics at the University of British Columbia, an RFBerlin Research Fellow, a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research, and a Research Fellow at IZA. His research focuses on labour economics and applied econometrics, with particular emphasis on how alternative work arrangements and labour-market institutions affect firms and workers. He uses matched employer–employee datasets and administrative records to study firm wage-setting, hiring, outsourcing, collective bargaining, employment protection, and career outcomes. His work also examines the effects of policy reforms in higher education and the labour market, including how employment-protection reforms shape workers’ wages and career trajectories. He received his PhD in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
