Kirill Borusyak is the Edwin C. Voorhees Endowed Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of California, Berkeley, with an affiliation with Berkeley’s Department of Economics. He is also a research fellow at CReAM at RFBerlin, the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and several other research centres, including CeMMAP, the Institute for Fiscal Studies, and the Centre for Economic Performance. His research focuses on international economics and applied econometrics, including the effects of international trade on consumers and workers and the development of methods for causal analysis in socioeconomic research. Together with Xavier Jaravel and Peter Hull, he co-authored the influential paper “Quasi-Experimental Shift-Share Research Designs,” published in the Review of Economic Studies. Borusyak received his PhD in Economics from Harvard University in 2018 and subsequently worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Princeton University and University College London, as well as visiting scholar positions at the Harvard Center for International Development and the London School of Economics.
