Christian Fons-Rosen is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of California, Merced, a Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition, and a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research. His research focuses on the economics of science and innovation, applied microeconomics, political economy, firm productivity, and labour economics. He studies how scientific and technological knowledge is created and diffused, how innovation affects firms and workers, and how political connections and lobbying shape economic and policy outcomes. His research also examines productivity, the organization of research, and the relationship between innovation and labour markets. Fons-Rosen received his PhD in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science and previously held academic positions at Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona.
