Francesco Fasani is a Full Professor in Economics in the Department of Economics, Management and Quantitative Methods at the University of Milan “Statale”. He was previously employed as Reader at Queen Mary University of London (2013-2021), Affiliated Professor at the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics and Post-Doc Researcher at the Institute for Economic Analysis IAE-CSIC (2010-2013). He obtained his PhD in Economics from the University College London in 2011. He is a Research Fellow at CEPR (Labour Economics and Political Economy), Rockwool Foundation– Berlin, and IZA@LISER. His main research interests are in the Economics of Migration and of Crime, Labour Economics, and Applied Microeconometrics. His work has been published in leading economics journals, including: Journal of the European Economic Association, Review of Economics and Statistics, Economic Journal, Journal of Human Resources, Journal of Development Economics, Industrial and Labor Relations Review, and Journal of Economic Geography. He has also published a volume on Immigration and Crime with Cambridge University Press. His research has been featured in major national and international media outlets (e.g. New York Times, Washington Post, Financial Times, The Times, the Guardian, il Sole-24ORE, la Repubblica, etc.). On the policy side, he has acted as a consultant on migration issues for major international organizations: European Commission, European Parliament, IADB, WB, IOM.
