About Alexander M. Danzer
Since 2014, Alexander M. Danzer has held the Chair of Microeconomics at the Faculty of Business and Economics at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, Germany. Prior to that, he was Junior Professor of Economics at Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich from 2011. He studied Human Geography and Economics in Munich, Berlin, and Prague, completing a dual degree at LMU Munich before earning his PhD in Economics at Royal Holloway, University of London. In 2013, he was appointed to the Young Academy of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities and the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina. Visiting professorships took him to Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona) and Stockholm University. His research focuses on the incentive effects of social security systems, the foundations of economic (mis)behavior, and labor markets in development economics. He has consulting experience in international development cooperation, including for the World Bank and the German development bank KfW.
