About Berkay Ozcan

Berkay Özcan is Professor of Social Research and Public Policy at NYU Abu Dhabi. He was previously Professor of Social and Public Policy at the London School of Economics. He received his PhD from Universitat Pompeu Fabra and worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Yale University, with visiting positions at Princeton, Oxford, UCL, and Essex. His research, at the intersection of family dynamics, child outcomes, and economic inequality, bridges demography, sociology, and economics. His work has appeared in American Economic Review, PNAS, Demography, Journal of Human Resources, and Annual Review of Sociology. He has advised the IOM, the EIB, and UK government bodies, and serves on the editorial board of Research in Social Stratification and Mobility. He was also Co-Director of the Women in Social and Public Policy Research Hub of the LSE.
