About Berkay Ozcan
Berkay Özcan is Professor of Social Research and Public Policy and the Director of the Inequality Research Cluster at NYU Abu Dhabi. He has been a Professor of Social and Public Policy at the London School of Economics. He received his PhD from Universitat Pompeu Fabra and worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Yale University, before joining LSE in 2011. He held visiting positions at Princeton, Oxford, UCL, and Essex. His research, at the intersection of family dynamics, child outcomes, and economic inequality, bridges demography and economics. His work has appeared in American Economic Review, PNAS, Demography, Journal of Human Resources, and Annual Review of Sociology. He has advised, EBRD, the IOM of the UN, the EIB, and UK government bodies such as Ministry of Justice and PHE, and serves on the editorial board of Research in Social Stratification and Mobility.
