Björn Öckert is a Professor at the Institute for Evaluation of Labour Market and Education Policy (IFAU) and at Uppsala University in Sweden. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Stockholm University. His research lies at the intersection of the economics of education and labor economics, with a particular focus on skill formation within and between families, the impact of school resources, parental investments, and the labor market returns to skills. His work has been published in leading academic journals, including the Quarterly Journal of Economics, American Economic Journal: Applied Economics, American Economic Journal: Economic Policy, Review of Economics and Statistics, Economic Journal, and Journal of Human Resources.
