About Cynthia Bansak
Dr. Cynthia Bansak is the Charles A. Dana Professor of Economics at St. Lawrence University (SLU) where she has been since 2007. Prior to joining SLU, Cynthia was a professor at San Diego State University and an Economist at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. She holds a BA in Economics from Yale University and an MA and PhD in Economics from the University of California, San Diego. She considers herself an applied economist with research interests in labor economics, immigration, pedagogy and monetary policy. She is a Research Fellow at the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA) and is the co-Editor of the Eastern Economic Journal. Her work has been published in various academic journals, including the American Economic Review Papers and Proceedings, Economic Inquiry, Industrial Labor Relations Review, International Migration Review, Journal of Policy Analysis and Management, and the Southern Economic Journal. She has also co-authored a textbook on the Economics of Immigration by Routledge Publishers.
