About Claudio Deiana
Claudio Deiana is an Associate Professor at the Department of Economics and Business at the University of Cagliari, since September 2025. He was previously employed as a Research Economic Analyst at the Competence Centre on Microeconomic Evaluation, European Commission – Joint Research Centre (2016–2018). He obtained his PhD in Economics from the University of Essex in 2017. He is a Research Fellow at IZA – Institute of Labor Economics, HEDG – Health Econometrics and Data Group, and Econ Department of University of Essex. His main research interests are in Applied Microeconometrics, and the Economics of Migration and Crime. His research has been published in leading economics journals such as: American Economic Journal: Economic Policy, European Economic Review, Journal of Health Economics, Journal of Urban Economics, Journal of Law, Economics, and Organization, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Demography, Journal of Population Economics.
