About Damian Clarke
Damian Clarke is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics of The University of Exeter and the Universidad de Chile. Damian's research is focused on the fields of labour economics, public economics and health.
Damian's recent research is centred around maternal, child, and population health, and family fertility decisions. In particular he studies the impact of public programs on maternal mortality and morbidity, early life health outcomes for children, and the determinants of parental investment in children. He is also interested in applied microeconometrics, and is an author of a number of open-source software routines for microeconometric methods. Damian has written a number of text books with a focus on microeconometric and computational methods, including "Applied Microeconometrics", available from MIT Press in 2026.
