About Denni Tommasi

Denni Tommasi is an Associate Professor at the University of Bologna (Italy). He is an applied microeconomist with a primary interest in labor and development economics, and their intersections with causal inference methods. Within these fields, his research focuses on understanding the constraints hindering disadvantaged individuals from improving their economic conditions. His work is organized around three main pillars. First, he designs field experiments to provide rigorous evidence on the effectiveness of interventions, which informs decisions about resource allocation and policy design. Second, he studies the economics of the family and how policies targeted at individuals or families affect their choices. Third, he develops econometric techniques to better evaluate the effects of public policies.
