Eva O. Arceo-Gómez is Chair of the Economics Department and Associate Professor of Economics at CIDE (Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas) in Mexico City. Her research focuses on labor and gender economics, particularly gender wage gaps and discrimination in the labor market, exploring how household structure, unpaid work, and gender norms shape women's economic outcomes and give rise to child penalties. She also studies the economic dimensions of domestic violence and its links to women's employment and social mobility. In addition, she works in health and environmental economics, examining the effects of air pollution on infant mortality, the impact of extreme temperatures on school performance, and the labor market consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. She has also held academic positions at Universidad Iberoamericana and El Colegio de México, and was a Visiting Scholar at the Center for Labor Economics at the University of California, Berkeley. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, an M.A. in Economics from El Colegio de México, and did her undergraduate studies at Tec de Monterrey.
