About Frederic Vermeulen
Frederic Vermeulen is a professor of economics at the Department of Economics of the University of Leuven. Prior to his current position, he was a professor of economics at Tilburg University. He is also a research fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS, London) and the Institute of Labor Economics (IZA, Bonn). His research interests are in the economics of the household, with a focus on demand, labor supply, the intra-household allocation of resources, and matching on the marriage market. His work was published in journals like Econometrica, the American Economic Review, the Journal of Political Economy and the Review of Economic Studies. He has been a Joint Managing Editor of the Economic Journal from 2012 to 2021 and a member of the Editorial Board of the Review of Economic Studies from 2010-2017. He is currently an Associate Editor of the Review of Economics of the Household and de Economist. Together with Laurens Cherchye and Bram De Rock, he was awarded the Francqui Prize in 2019. He currently serves as the president-elect of the Society of Economics of the Household (SEHO).
