Professor of Economics at the Department of Economics at the University of Southampton (UK), and Director of Research in Economics. Awarded Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2020 Queen's Birthday Honours for services to Economic Policy. Previous member of the UK Migration Advisory Committee (2012-2021). Fellow and Trustee of the Academy of Social Sciences Council. Founding Fellow of the Royal Economic Society. Member of the REF2029 Sub-Panel 16 (Economics & Econometrics). Was member of the ESRC Council (2022-2025), the Council of the Royal Economic Society (2020-2025) and the REF2021 Sub-Panel 16 (Economics & Econometrics).
Her research interests span the economics of international migration and refugees, and labour markets.
