About Margherita Borella
Margherita Borella is Professor of Public Economics at the University of Turin, a Fellow at Collegio Carlo Alberto, a Research Fellow at CeRP – Center for Research on Pension and Welfare Policies, and a Research Fellow at CEPR. Her research focuses on life-cycle economics, public finance, and household economics, with particular emphasis on consumption and saving, labor supply and retirement, Social Security and pension systems, health and medical expenditures, and wage and earnings dynamics. Her work combines rich micro data with structural life-cycle models and empirical methods to study how individuals and families respond to public policy over the life cycle, and to evaluate the implications for behavior and welfare. Borella’s research has been published in the American Economic Review, the Review of Economic Studies, the Journal of the European Economic Association, and the International Economic Review. Borella received a B.A. from the University of Venice in Italy and a Ph.D. in Economics from University College London.
