About Michel Serafinelli
Michel Serafinelli is a Senior Lecturer in Economics at King's Business School, King's College London. Prior to this role, he held positions at the University of Toronto and the University of Essex. He earned a PhD in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley. Michel is also a Research Associate at the Economic Statistics Centre of Excellence (ESCoE), a Fellow at CESifo, and an Associate Editor at the Economic Journal.
His primary research interests lie in Labour and Regional Economics, with much of his current work focusing on the intersection of these fields with Environmental Economics. More broadly, his research also takes a Political Economy perspective. Michel studies the causes and consequences of regional disparities in labour market outcomes, with a particular emphasis on the green transition, the role of manufacturing, and regional institutions.
