About Marianne Simonsen
Simonsen is professor at the Department of Economics and Business Economics, Aarhus University. She is a research fellow at CESifo and RFBerlin and affiliated with TrygFonden's Centre for Child Research. Since 2023, she has been editor at Scandinavian Journal of Economics.
Simonsen's academic interests lie within family, health and labor economics. She currently explores how reforms of welfare policies affect children's wellbeing and human capital; the role of universal parenting support during the transition to parenthood; and how to support children who grow up in families plagued by substance use problems.
