I am a Professor of Economics at the University of Sussex. My research focusses on labour markets. A major strand of my work examines the impact of minimum wages on employment outcomes and pay distribution. I was an Independent Member of the UK Low Pay Commission from 2014 to 2021. I am co-lead of the Skills and Reward research theme at the ESRC Digit Research Centre.
