About Rigissa Megalokonomou
Rigissa Megalokonomou is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at Monash University, Melbourne. She is also an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the University of Queensland, a Research Fellow at IZA, a Research Affiliate at CESifo, and the Australian Research Council’s (ARC) Life Course Centre. She received her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Warwick. Before joining Monash, she held academic and research positions at the University of Queensland.
Her research lies in applied microeconomics, focusing on policy-relevant questions in education, migration, and labor economics. Her work has been published in leading international journals, including the American Economic Review, American Economic Journal: Applied Economics, Economic Journal, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), Journal of Human Resources, European Economic Review, and Journal of Public Economics, among others.
