Time: 14:00 – 15:15, Tuesday 11 May 2027

Location: Gormannstraße 22, 10119 Berlin

The RFBerlin Applied Economics Seminar series brings leading researchers to Berlin to share their latest work and engage with our community. We are pleased to welcome Jan Stuhler for this session, where he will share his work.

Jan Stuhler is Professor of Economics in the Department of Economics at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. He is also affiliated with the Swedish Institute for Social Research at Stockholm University and the Centre for Research and Analysis of Migration at University College London, and is a Research Fellow at IZA. His research focuses on labour economics and public economics, with particular emphasis on migration, intergenerational mobility, and the transmission of socioeconomic advantages across generations. His recent work examines how inequalities persist across multiple generations, how firms’ monopsony power shapes the labour-market effects of immigration, and how different forms of employment affect workers’ careers. Stuhler received his PhD in Economics from University College London in 2014 and previously studied at the University of Bonn and the University of California, Berkeley.
