Melanie Wasserman is an Associate Professor of Economics at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. She is a labor economist whose research focuses on the mechanisms underlying gender differences in educational, occupational, and labor market outcomes, with particular attention to how workplace institutions, job attributes, and policies shape career choices. Her work examines differences in preferences and treatment between men and women in the labor market, and how these forces contribute to persistent gender gaps.
