ROCKWOOL FOUNDATION BERLIN – Institute for the Economy and the Future of Work (RFBerlin), a research institute focused on applied and data-driven research, is seeking a research assistant to provide support to a project about migration flows across African countries and to Europe, led by Jérôme Adda and Giacomo Battiston. The research assistant will be conducting data cleaning and analysis under the supervision of the members of the research team. This is a part-time position that offers flexible hours, allowing candidates to balance work and their studies. We aim for the position to start as soon as possible, after the end of the selection process.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation of a large dataset on migration intentions and migration flows across African countries.
  • Perform data entry based on reports on policy reports about migration.
  • Assist in the estimation of a structural econometric model.

Profile

  • Currently enrolled as a bachelor or master student in statistics, informatics, economics or related disciplines.
  • Good coding skills with Python and Stata.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • (optional) interest in working with migration data.
