We at RFBerlin are seeking a highly skilled and motivated research assistant to provide support for a project on the labor market effects of collective bargaining, led by Christian Dustmann and Jan Knuf.
As a research assistant you will collaborate closely with project members and support the research team on a new research project that evaluates a collective bargaining reform using Danish data. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in managing large, administrative datasets and applying state-of-the art econometric methods in a dynamic and supportive environment.
This is a part-time position for 10-15 hours per week that offers flexible hours, allowing you to balance work and your studies. We aim for the position to start as soon as possible, after the end of the selection process.
Main Job Responsibilities
- Collect, prepare, and analyze data using Stata, R, or Python.
- Create internal memos, document the data collection process, and edit research papers and presentations.
- Conduct literature reviews and perform desk-based research tasks
- Assist with project management, including scheduling meetings, tracking deadlines, and communicating with team members.
Profile
- Currently enrolled as a master or bachelor student in economics, statistics, data science, or related disciplines.
- A strong quantitative background.
- Excellent coding skills with Stata, R, and/or Python.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English (no German required).
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Interested in (labor market) research and data analysis.
