Carl Gergs is a Research Associate at the ROCKWOOL Foundation Berlin and recently completed his PhD in Economics at University College London (UCL), where he was affiliated with the Centre for Research and Analysis of Migration (CReAM). He holds an MSc in Economics from UCL and a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford. His research is in applied microeconomics, with a particular focus on labour economics, education, and social mobility. His work examines how firms shape wages and job creation, and how higher education influences economic opportunity and inequality.
