Marc Diederichs is a Postdoctoral Researcher in Economics at the University of Passau. His research focuses on applied microeconomics, particularly in the fields of labor, innovation, and education. He completed his Ph.D. in Economics at the Graduate School of Economics, Finance, and Management, at Goethe University Frankfurt. During his doctoral studies, he was a visiting researcher at MIT's Department of Economics. His academic journey began with studies in Management and Economics at the University of Paris Nanterre and Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz.
His research has been published in leading academic journals, including the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. His current work examines the economics of academic production, scholarly peer review processes, and interdisciplinary research. Dr. Diederichs received the Best Paper Award from the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Gesundheitsökonomie and held several prestigious fellowships, including the Deutschlandstipendium.
Prior to joining the University of Passau, he worked as a Senior Research Officer at the ROCKWOOL Foundation Berlin and as a doctoral researcher at the Chair of Statistics and Econometrics of his doctoral thesis advisor Reyn van Ewijk at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. He has extensive teaching experience in undergraduate and graduate-level microeconometrics and introductory econometrics courses.
