Martin Wiegand is a Postdoctoral Researcher at RFBerlin. He received his PhD in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF). His work lies in labour, public, and urban economics, examining how local economic conditions shape the optimal design of labour market policies and workers’ employment trajectories. His job market paper, “Cities with Benefits,” was selected for the 2026 EALE Tour and won the 2024 BeNA Innovative Research Award.
