Michelle is a postdoctoral researcher at RFBerlin and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Her research interests lie in applied microeconomics with a particular focus on migration, networks, and unemployment insurance (UI) systems. She is specialized in administrative employer-employee linked data for Germany and Spain. In her current work, she applies quasi-experimental research designs to study the causal effects of former workplace contacts on migration decisions. Michelle obtained her PhD in Economics from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and the Berlin School of Economics in March 2025.
